What's your photography style? Our style mostly documentary, we photograph your day as it unfolds naturally without interference from us, trying to tell all those little important moments of your special day in the most spontaneous way, but always looking for interesting light, angles and backgrounds, we also put a lot of energy and time in the photos of just the two of you to turn your wedding your wedding portraits into something unique that you will look in the future. I’m not a “normal” photographer, we don’t do classic posed wedding photography, we think of every wedding as an adventure we’ll jump in together.

How can we meet with you? Many of our couples hire us without an in-person meeting. We always answer emails as soon as possible through phone calls we are able to answer most questions. However, we are happy to schedule meeting via Skype, our out-of-town clients have done this, and we love it as we get to put a face to those emails! We can try for coffee if you’re in the Riviera Maya area, we loooove coffee and meeting new couples! We can always find a time and method that works!

How many photographers will be at my wedding? We are usually two photographers at each wedding (Renata & me), and if possible an assistant. This provides a second angle on the ceremony and reception without losing any important moments, the assistant will help with the equipment and with off-camera lighting for creative portraits and the party.

If we are uncomfortable having our pictures taken. How can you help us on the wedding day?We are very easy going people, we’ll try to be as unobtrusive as possible and get along with your and your guests, you will get used to us very quickly as we were part of the wedding party. Only during the wedding portraits we will guide you through everything in a simple and funny way, you just be yourselves, and we will take care of the rest.
-
Do you take family group portraits on the wedding day?A classic family picture with your parents and friends is a memory you want to keep regardless of your photographer style, specially if they travelled form so far to join you in you wedding day. We only ask that the family portraits don’t take too long, usually these pictures are done after the ceremony, when the sun is going down and we prefer to use the beautiful light with have at this time of the day for your couple session. We can always do some more family and friends pictures during the reception. We take all the photographs you would expect out of any normal wedding photographer, but remember... we are not your normal photographers.
-
What should I think when I schedule my wedding day? How long do you stay at my wedding? As we mentioned, every wedding is unique, however we can make some recommendations according our experience, as wedding photographers and Renata as wedding planner as well, we suggest you plan your day around the sunset time, you want your ceremony to starts 1 hour and a half prior sunset to have enough day light for pictures after. Getting ready time is very important for wedding day story, everything that happens before the wedding are great moments of nervous, excitement, laughter, tears and expectations, we recommend 1 to 2 hours of getting ready before ceremony. Also very important is your wedding session time, we don’t want to hurry your portraits and those moments after the ceremony are full of energy and love, leave 1 hour for this session before your reception. We recommend 8-12 hour coverage so make sure you plan all the special moments of your reception during this time frame such as first dances, speeches, cake cutting, bouquet and garter toss, party, etc.
-
My friend has a camera, can he take pictures during the wedding?"Sure he can, as long as he doesn't obstruct your pictures. We strongly recommend you to have an “unplugged wedding”, ask your guest to turn off their cameras or phones and just enjoy your wedding ceremony, we don’t want you to loose your first kiss because of a phone picture.

BONUS: Wedding tips! After so many weddings along our history we put together some tips and suggestions to make your bid day even better. First of all, hire a Wedding Planner! This will save you a lot of head aches and also a lot of money, a planner will help you to enjoy this process and suggest the best locations and vendors so you only worry about saying I Do. Depending on your location, your may have an indoor, outdoor or tent reception, in any case the lights will be a very important factor. The more lighting you can bring in, the better! For indoor receptions take advantage candles, chandeliers and twinkle lights. Fill the dance floor with different colors, just stay away from green and keep it white for your first dance. When you are not sure about the weather, tent receptions are the best and the white ceiling works very well with our lights, chandeliers or lanterns will give a warm touch as well as candle lights for your tables. If a reception under the stars is what you have dreamed of, our suggestion is to add lights everywhere: twinkle lights, lanterns, candles, etc. This will give an elegant touch and give some dimension to your pictures instead of just a black background. For religious ceremonies, specially inside of a church or temple, its important to verify with the officiant if they have any restriction for us, we don't want be disrespectful and we can adjust to any requirement but is better to know in advance. We want to be your photographer but also your friends during this adventure and hopefully for many years to come, so we kindly advice you to treat your photographer as another guest, specially for your destination wedding, we’ll be so honored if we received an invitation and you will have a beautiful picture of it as part of your story. When possible have your photographers ride with you, doesn’t matter if is a bus or a limo, these are very intimate and funny moments we want to capture, if we are on your guests list you can void resort fees for external vendors and we’ll be seated with the guests so we grant you wont lose any precious moment, when we have a break for dinner as we’ll be served as the same time as you do, after long hours of storytelling we will need energy for the rest of your reception, you don want exhausted photographers and we want to be next to you jumping on the dance floor. Finally and most important: RELAX! Let your wedding day just flow, doesn’t matter if it rains, forgetting your vows, a guest that could’t come or if you are running late, everything will find its way just keep your mind open and enjoy the day, let your wedding surprise and as we mentioned on the beginning of these page: every wedding is unique and special just like you are.
